I can hardly believe that this wasn’t my idea:
But the idea man behind buttering two pieces of bread and melting some cheese between them (Edam and cheddar, if you’re curious, Gerald) deserves credit, as well as a spot on the Plate of Wander cast of characters.
He doesn’t smile in photographs.
I think the last time I had eaten grilled cheese was during my time at Camp Walden. The kitchen usually served everyone’s favorite lunch, grilled cheese, tater tots, and tomato soup, about once a week, though I’ll admit that the tater tots were my favorite part of that meal.
So grilled cheese not only reminds me of some of the happiest days of my life (cheesy but true), but it reminds me of a time when I could down multiple grilled cheese sandwiches and mountains of tater tots without remotely considering bodily repercussions.
George also orchestrated this:
He makes life at least five pounds heavier (though he claims to have gained ten in the two weeks we’ve known each other), therefore contributing greatly to your Plate of Wander experience, so feel free to petition him to stick around the PoW Playbill.butter, cheese, cooking, Gerald, home cooking, huzhou
